2013 YoungCuts Film Festival Submission Form


Submit your film to the 2014 YoungCuts Film Festival.


  • To be eligible for inclusion, the applicant must be 29 years old or under as of December 31st, 2012.
  • By submitting this form, filmmaker agrees to pay the applicable submission fee promptly.
  • Filmmakers submit their films to YoungCuts using this online submission form and by sharing their film files with us via Dropbox, Vimeo or any other file sharing services. Do not send your master tape or original.
  • Current deadline for submissions is August 9, 2013, and may be extended by YoungCuts.
  • The use of original music or royalty-free music is strongly recommended but not mandatory for Festival submissions. Please ensure that you have all necessary releases on file, including actors’ releases.
  • YoungCuts will only select films for the festival that are 30 minutes or less.
  • Submission fees are non-refundable.
  • Please submit a separate submission form for each film.
  • Once entered, films may not be withdrawn from participation at YoungCuts. Submission tape and DVDs will not be returned and applicant permits YoungCuts to retain files, DVDs and promotional materials as part of its Festival library.
  • Submissions accepted for exhibition may be screened one or multiple times at various YoungCuts venues (whether online, in-theatre or in other forms) prior to, during and after the Festival. 
  • Applicant hereby grants YoungCuts the non-exclusive rights to use all or part(s) of the film for promotional purposes; to use stills, biographical material, names and likeness from the film for promotional purposes and in Festival program and merchandise, to provide copies of the film for journalists to review, to show the film at press screenings, to include in festival compilations and to exhibit the film during the Festival and at any time before and after the Festival.
  • YoungCuts will use its best efforts to ensure the correct title and credits are listed in the Festival program, but shall not be held liable for inadvertent errors or omissions.
  • Festival programmers and judges shall determine selections and award winners at their sole discretion.
  • YoungCuts reserves the right to decide all questions not specifically provided for in the Terms and Conditions.
  • YoungCuts reserves the rights to adjust dates and times of film screenings without notice. YoungCuts shall not be responsible for delays or cancellations due to equipment failure, shipping delays, or the condition of the films delivered.
  • If sending a digital copy via the internet as mentionned above is an impossibility for the filmmaker, we may accept a physical copy of their film. Send us a physical copy of your film right away, as two DVD screeners and Data DVD with .AVI or .MOV file to:

  • What language is the film in? If there is no language, write "No Dialogue"
  • Does your film have sub-titles? We accept films in English or French or with English or French sub-titles.
  • Is your film in 4:3 aspect ration, 16:9 aspect ratio or some other format?
  • If your short synopsis is too long to tweet (140 characters) it is too long!
  • Give us a link where we can download your film. Don't know how to do this? Click the blue link above the form "How to Submit your film via Dropbox or Vimeo". We prefer that you send us your film online. If your internet connection is too slow, you can send us physical copies. Note that we cannot download your film from YouTube. Do not use Youtube to send us your film.
  • If we need a password to download your film, please include it here.
  • I understand that allowing my film to be featured online will increase my chances of being featured at the Festival and that I will be eligible for certain prizes and awards that I would not otherwise be able to win. I used original or public domain music and have all appropriate rights for my film to be played online. I hereby grant YoungCuts a non-exclusive, royalty-free, and fully sub-licensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, and display the film as part of the YoungCuts Film Festival throughout the world in any media for a minimum period of 12 months. I may revoke the right after this term with 30 days written notice to YoungCuts.
  • I understand that I will be ineligible for certain prizes if my film does play at the Festival
  • By clicking the "Submit" button below, the person submitting the enclosed film to the Festival confirms that he/she holds all necessary rights for the submission and has the legal authority to grant such rights to YoungCuts hereunder and that he/she has read and understands and agrees with the Festival Terms and Conditions. Notwithstanding the foregoing, submission of a film constitutes the agreement with the Festival Terms and Conditions. In consideration of my application to the YoungCuts Film Festival, I for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, successors and assigns, hereby waive and forever discharge YoungCuts Film Festival Inc., YoungCuts Inc., any related companies, their officers, directors and employees, Festival sponsors and suppliers, Festival sanctioning bodies and elected or appointed officials, all of their successors and assigns, of and from all claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses, actions and causes of actions whether in law or equity, in respect of loss or damage to my person or property howsoever caused, arising or said to arise by reason of my participation in the said event. I further hereby undertake to hold and save harmless and agree to indemnify all of the aforesaid from and against any and all liability incurred by any or all of them arising as a result of, or in any way connected with my participation in the said event. BY SUBMITTING THIS APPLICATION, I ACKNOWLEDGE HAVING UNDERSTOOD AND AGREE TO THE ABOVE WAIVER, RELEASE AND INDEMNITY.
