To submit your film to the 2012 YoungCuts Film Festival

Follow These Steps.

We will announce the top 100 YoungCuts films for 2012 in middle to late July. We screen the best films from our Top 100 in late September, usually the same weekend as Les Journées de la Culture. We program films of any genre no longer than 30 minutes, although we prefer films under 15 minutes.

For 2012 Early Submissions:
Before January 31st, 2012.
Films 5 minutes and under, (Short Shorts) the submission fee is $20.
Films longer than 5 minutes, the early submission fee is $30.

All amounts in U.S. Dollars.  Canadian residents - please add applicable taxes.

Also note that while we only give prizes for films by film makers 25 years and under, we will devote time to films by YoungCuts Alumni and Friends 25 years and over. Contact us for details.
 

For all Films submitted:

-Please use original music, public domain music or music that you own the rights to.
-If there are cast and crew that you want to nominate for awards (Acting, Editing, Cinematography, etc.) please note the following details: They must be 25 and under as of Dec 31st, 2011 to be eligible. Please advise us of their name, contact information and in what category you would like to nominate them. If it was for an acting performance, please let us know the name of their character.
-If you would like your film to be considered in the Best Teen Film category, please advise us.
-If you would like your film to be considered for People's Choice Awards, please accept the Online option in the submission form.

-Please include with your submission:
2 DVD screeners of your film for our judges
AND
1 Data DVD with high-quality .AVI or .MOV file of your film.
(Uncompressed if possible)

Finally, please fill out the submission form completely.

YoungCuts Film Festival Submission Fees

YoungCuts Festival Submission Fees between January 31st and March 31st:
Films 5 minutes and under, (Short Shorts) the submission fee is $25.
Films longer than 5 minutes, but under 15 minutes the fee is $40.
Films longer than 15 minutes, but no longer than 30 minutes the fee is $60.

We do accept films after the Regular Deadline of March 31st.
The submission fee for films of any length after March 31st is $60.
