'Shift Plus' revolves around the idea of skin tones and outfits, changing colors based off of literal associations with basic color theory and psychology. The environment, characters, and animation style created are inspired by the 8-bit graphic, retro aesthetic that originated from interactive console and personal computer video games of the 1980s and 1990s. The aesthetic was chosen because it supports the other-worldly, abstract justification of the skin-changing ideal within the story.
